Certificate Programs

Students in class taking part in the NIU Law certificate program.

The College of Law offers six Certificate Programs for students matriculating beginning in August 2011.

NIU is consistently recognized for its holistic approach to the training and development of successful lawyers through rigorous coursework, skills training, experiential clinics, externships, pro-bono opportunities and a full complement of specialized certificate programs.

Certificate programs, in particular, capitalize on our faculty expertise to enable students to focus on specialized areas of the law that have piqued their deepened interests and career pursuits. This focused training also heightens the student’s visibility amongst prospective employers in the particular field.

A list of general guidelines applies to all current NIU Law certificate programs except the Law & Women’s Studies Certificate.
