Biography

Stacey Mandell is a judicial law clerk for Justice Susan Fayette Hutchinson of the Illinois Appellate Court, Second District.

In addition to the NIU College of Law Alumni Council, Stacey is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Women's Bar Association of Illinois, and the Appellate Lawyers Association. Stacey is currently a Director of the Appellate Lawyers Association and also serves as Chair of its Website committee.  She has also served on the Moot Court committee of the Appellate Lawyers Association, where she helped create moot court problems and bench memos for its annual competition.  Stacey was the 2006 recipient of the Alumni Council's Outstanding Service Award for her service to the NIU College of Law.

While a student at NIU College of Law, Stacey served as a Lead Articles editor on the Law Review and as an Associate Justice of the Moot Court Society. Stacey was the Scholarship Recipient of the Women's Bar Association of Illinois Foundation in 1995. She was honored at commencement by receiving the College of Law’s award for Greatest Contribution to the Advocacy Programs. Stacey received a B.A. in Music Education, with a minor in Math Education from Eastern Illinois University in 1985, and a J.D. cum laude from Northern Illinois College of Law in 1996.
