Biography

Melinda began working for the Office of the Cook County Public Defender in 2004. During this time, she has worked in the Child Protection Division as well as the Bond Court and Child Support calls. Currently Melinda is assigned to the Juvenile Justice Criminal Division where she represents minors who have been charged with criminal offenses.

While working for the Office of the Public Defender, Melinda has been a guest speaker at the Northwestern Bluhm Legal Clinic and has also been a presenter at legal seminars sponsored by Northwestern Law School. Melinda frequently speaks at local high schools and alternative education programs in Cook County where she educates minors on their legal rights and how the court system works.
