Lisa Matich is an Ed.D. graduate student in the Counseling, Adult and Higher Education program (CAHE) at Northern Illinois University and is currently the graduate assistant of Dr. Laurie Elish-Piper in the Department of Literacy and Elementary Education. She began her legal career in the area of insurance subrogation and enjoyed several years as a trial attorney in Cook County and in the surrounding collar counties.  During her tenure as a trial attorney, she tried numerous jury and bench trials as well as arbitrations.  She went on to research and write appellate briefs for a general practice firm, while maintaining her own independent practice focusing on real estate law.  Ms. Matich joined Northwestern College as an Adjunct Professor in 2006, becoming Program Coordinator for the School of Legal Studies at the Naperville Campus in December 2010. She is a certified arbitrator for DuPage, Will,  and Kane Counties as well as a member of the Illinois Bar Association, American Association of Paralegal Educations, and the Will County Bar Association.
