In September 2007, Rudolph “Rudy” Braud was appointed as an associate judge in the Illinois Seventh Judicial Circuit. Judge Braud previously practiced governmental affairs, general litigation, and election law at Zack Stamp, Ltd. in Springfield, Illinois.
After graduating from NIU Law in 1996, Judge Braud worked as an assistant state’s attorney in Winnebago and Sangamon Counties. He then entered private practice with the Springfield, Illinois, firm of Brown, Hay & Stephens. In 1999, he became chief legal counsel to Senate Democratic Leader Emil Jones and served in this prestigious position until 2002.
