Tool to remove Account Manager Files

Removes 4 files and 1 registry key that were used for the Account Manager password syncing system.

Requirements:

• A workstation with a Novell Client that has an ACU version of (7.176).  This is the only version affected.
• A user with local administrative privileges on Windows 2000/XP PCs because the installation process will modify the Windows registry.
• Windows 2000 or Windows XP

Using the Removal Tool

Windows 2000/XP

• Log in to the network with your NDS account and onto the machine with the local Administrator account.
• Open a web browser and go to the Novell downloads page.
• Select Removal Tool.
• When prompted to “Save” or “Open”, select Save.
• Navigate to the folder where you saved the executable.
• Double click on the executable ASAM removal.exe.

General Information

Windows 2000/XP

• This executable removes 4 files and 1 registry key.
• "asamplat.conf" from the Windows or Winnt directory.
• "ampm.dll, ascauth.dll, & AMServer.exe" from the System32 directory.
• It will also delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\ASAM registry key.
