How to Subscribe to "NIU Mac Users" Discussion List

The "NIU Mac Users" e-mail discussion list is available to subscribe to.

This listserv is an electronic mailing list intended for discussion of Apple Macintosh hardware and software by NIU faculty, staff, and students.  It is an unmoderated list, which means that it can receive posts from any user that is on the recipient list -- approval from a listserv moderator is not required, but posts should follow the general principles of good netiquette.

Please DO NOT send file attachments to the Discussion list.

List users are the individuals who are recipients of messages posted to the listserv.In order to become a list user, you need to subscribe yourself to the list.

The responsibilities of list users include:

  • Following the expectations and objectives of the listserv
  • Not to post inflammatory messages
  • Saving subscription confirmation for future reference regarding listserv operation
  • Unsubscribing or requesting to be temporarily removed in a timely fashion if going on vacation
  • Adhering to the NIU Acceptable Use Policy regarding technology resources
  • Adhering to the NIU E-Mail Policy

If you want to subscribe, send an e-mail message addressed to:   NIUMacusers-join@lists.niu.edu. Put "subscribe" in the subject and leave body of the message blank. After you send your subscription e-mail, you should soon receive an automated e-mail response letting you know that you are subscribed. Once you receive this verification, you can post messages to the listserv by sending e-mail to the following e-mail address:   niumacusers@lists.niu.edu

Be certain to include a subject line in your posts.
