Allows you to return a call from the last person that called you without having to know the number.
Lift the handset and dial *69. An announcement will be heard stating the last number that called your line. Confirmation tone for authorization code input will be heard if the call is long distance. If the called line is busy, automatic monitoring will take place and you will be notified by special ringing when the line becomes available. Upon special ring-back, lift handset and the number will automatically be dialed. ACR requests can be canceled by dialing the deactivation code #69.
Redials the last number you called and if the line is busy, automatically monitors the number for up to thirty minutes for availability.
Lift the handset and dial *66. If the line is busy, you will be notified by special ringing when the line is free. Upon special ring-back, lift handset and the number will automatically be dialed. If the call is long distance, confirmation tone is heard for authorization code input. This must be done before call processing will continue. Automatic Redial requests can be canceled by dialing the Automatic Redial deactivation code #66.
Allows you to block the appearance of your number on the called party's telephone (if that party subscribes to Caller ID) on a per call basis. The words "Private Number" may be displayed rather than your number.
To enable this feature, you must obtain dial tone, then dial *67. After you hear a confirmation tone, and then the regular dial tone, dial the number you want to call.
Allows you to receive a second call while on an existing call. Call waiting is only activated by off-campus calls.
You will be alerted to a second incoming call by an audible tone. Simply flash the switch hook to place the current caller on hold and answer the incoming call. You can toggle back and forth between callers by flashing the switch hook.
Allows you to avoid interruption when you are on an important call or using your PC modem. If you have activated you Call Answering Service, your calls will be forwarded to your voice mail for answering.
Lift the handset and dial*70. Confirmation tone is heard and line drops back to regular dial tone for number input. If dialed number is long distance, confirmation tone is heard for authorization code input. This must be done before call processing will continue. This feature is used on a per call basis. You must activate feature before each call you do not want Call Waiting to interrupt. During a call, depress switch hook for one second (called party placed on hold) dial *70. Hear confirmation tone and then you will be automatically reconnected to call in progress.
Allows you to clear the stutter dial tone indicator, which alerts you that you have voice mail messages, in order to use a modem.
Lift the handset and dial *94. The stutter dial tone will clear. Your voice messages will remain, and the stutter dial tone will return when a new message is left on your Call Answering Service.
Allows anyone receiving harassing or threatening phone calls to activate an immediate trace without prior approval of the NIU Police Department. The information is recorded at the police department.
Immediately after the harassing or threatening call is terminated, obtain dial tone and dial *57. A status announcement will be heard advising you whether or not the trace was successful. Contact the NIU Police Department at the non-emergency number 753-1212 to proceed. **NOTE** If prior to trace activation, the call is interupted by the call waiting tone, whether answered or not, the call waiting call will be the one traced.
Allows numbers to be dialed with a short code. As many as ten numbers (0-9) can be set up on your Speed Call list. Note: Authorization Code cannot be stored.
To program numbers into the list, dial *74, then enter the one-digit Speed Call number (0-9). Enter the number you wish to store exactly as it would be dialed, and press # when you are done.
To use Speed Dial, dial * plus the Speed Call number (0-9). To change a Speed Call number, simply program over the previous number with the new number.
Allows you to talk with two different people at the same time. Also use this feature to transfer a call or consult with another party.
While talking to your first party, depress the switch hook. You will hear dial tone. Dial the number of the second party. At this point, you are able to have a private conversation with the second party. Press the switch hook again to establish a three way conversation. If you wish to exit the call, simply hang up, leaving the other two parties connected.
