Troubleshoot your smartphone
- No matter what the problem is, take out the battery. Wait at least 15 seconds before putting it back in. This corrects many problems.
- Dial *228 and press the send key. Select option 2 when prompted. This programs the device and reattaches it to the network. It also updates the roaming area for the device. This should be done once a month.
- Check the upgrade eligibility date. Contact Verizon Wireless at 800-540-4263 to determine if the phone should be upgraded. If it is eligible, fill out the Cellular Service Request.
- Check the charger and the charging port on
the device. If a device won’t charge or won’t hold a
charge it could be that the charging port has a bad pin or perhaps the wall
charger/car charger has gone bad.
