Creating a Sent Item Folder

By default your NIU student e-mail account does not store a copy of your sent messages.  You can create a sent items folder in your student e-mail account if you want to keep a copy of sent messages.  Sent items will count against your mailbox quota, so periodically delete items that you do not need any more to free up space in your e-mail account.

  1. Log in to http://webmail.students.niu.edu/
  2. Click Add Folder
  3. Type a name for this new folder – such as Sent Items & Click O.K.
  4. Select the Option Icon – described above under Navigation Icons & Links
  5. Choose the Mailbox Management tab
  6. Locate the Sent Folder drop-down arrow & choose your newly created folder
  7. Click Save
  8. Log out of your account for the selection to take effect
