GroupWise 7 Known Issues

Known issues reported regarding the use of or new installation of GroupWise 7.

Spell Check

  1. User Word List (Custom Dictionary) path/filename not defined
    • Solution: This is a two part solution.
      1. Copy the old user word list file (wt61us.uwl) referenced above from the old location (root of the C Drive) into the new proper location for this file (C:\documents and settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\GroupWise\wt61us.uwl).
      2. Access User Word List option within GroupWise’s Spell Check and redefine or map the path to the new proper location for the WT61US.UWL file.

  2. Spell Check’s Personal Dictionary file is blank
    • Solution: If you have a pre-existing, defined dictionary that you use for Spell Check, you can copy the old WT61US.UWL file from the root of the C Drive into the GroupWise folder defined in the installation path.

Calendar

  1. Building a Multiple User View Calendar creates duplicate entries under the proxy list
    • Solution: Leave these entries in place if you want to utilize the Multiple User Calendar feature. Novell is aware of this problem, but claims that it is sporadic in nature and doesn't yet have a solution for this issue.

Address Book

  1. Import of large amounts of GroupWise Address book data may be very slow.
    • Solution: A GroupWise distribution list is available for regular use of large amounts of system address book data – although there is a cost associated with this option.

Palm connecting software (Synching) for smart devices

    • Solution: Palm Software may need to be re-installed *after* upgrading your GroupWise client. This is not unique to the GroupWise 7 client – rather this has been a known issue for some time. Any Plug-In application that is integrated with your email client may be affected by an upgrade to your email client. An example of this would be the Nortel CallPilot plug-in for voicemail.

Download timing out via Setup IP file download location

    • Solution: This usually is a result of a network connection issue – in this case we recommend downloading the full CD ISO Image from the GroupWise 7 downloads page. (A different web server location to download the GW client)
