POP settings for all devices
If you IMAP or POP to a mobile device:
- Mobility Connector is strongly recommended to get GroupWise on a mobile device.
- Your mobile device's mail application must use SMTP to IMAP or POP.
- Your NIU network password expires every 130 days. Change this password on your device when you change your network password to avoid being locked out of your NIU network account. See GroupWise password on mobile devices.
IMAP settings for all devices
You may be prompted to accept a certificate for incoming and outgoing settings. Accept it.
Incoming Settings
- Incoming server name: mail.gw.niu.edu
- Username and password: AccountID and NIU password
- Security Authentication (SSL/TLS): SSL or Yes
- Port: 993
Outgoing Settings
- Outgoing server name: smtp.staff.niu.edu
- Username and password: AccountID and NIU password
- Security Authentication (SSL/TLS): TLS or Yes or password
- Port: 587
POP settings for all devices

- Username and password: AccountID/Z-ID and password
- Security Authentication (SSL/TLS): SSL or Yes
- Port: 995
