Enable the NIU Wireless security certificate on XP

  1. Select "Start" and then "Control Panel."

    click start and then choose control panel
  2. On the Control Panel menu, select "Network Connections."

  3. Click on "Wireless Network Connections" and select "Properties."

  4. Under the "Wireless Networks" tab, in the "Preferred Networks" section, select "NIUwireless."
    Click on "Properties."

  5. Under the "Authentication" tab, select "Protected EAP (PEAP)" from the "EAP type" dropdown menu, then click "Properties."

  6. Under "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" check ALL instances of "VeriSign Trust Network," "VeriSign Class 3 Public" and "VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority" and click "OK." Close all windows.

  7. Click on the information balloon and it will open a window to enter your credentials. Enter your NIU AccountID/Z-ID and password. Leave "Logon domain" blank.

  8. After entering in your credentials click "OK." The computer should connect to NIUwireless.

    log in and you should connect to NIUwireless
