When You Leave NIU

Your Z-ID will expire

Once you have not been enrolled in classes at NIU for more than one semester, your Z-ID will expire.

You will no longer have access to most NIU network resources

Your Z-ID allows you to access NIU network applications and resources.  Once it expires you will no longer be able to

• access your NIU e-mail
• use the ITS computer labs
• access your Home (H:) directory

Your data is removed

Once your account has expired the data in your H: drive and e-mail are removed. If you have anything on NIU resources that you want to keep, download it to external media before your Z-ID is cancelled.
