Your AccountID/Z-ID and Password

You need your AccountID/Z-ID and password to access computing and communications resources like:

• Blackboard
• MyNIU
• software applications on file servers
• ITS and ResTech computer labs
• student e-mail
• faculty/staff e-mail
• your network storage space (H: drive)
• network printers
• dial-in services
• wireless connections on the DeKalb campus
• secure connection to NIU network from off campus

Change / reset 
your password

Password Rules:

at least 8 characters

must contain at least 3 of the 4 elements below:

• uppercase letters
• lowercase letters
• special characters like +,`!@#$%^&*()
• numbers

cannot be reused

cannot contain your AccountID/Z-ID or name
