Students on F-1 Visas

Students coming on F-1 (student) visas will also need to submit the following to receive their immigration documents:

1. Bank Statement proving you have funds to cover the cost of tuition, fees, and living expense for one year. Your Official Bank Statement cannot be 6 months older than the date you intend to start school.

The estimated expenses for the Fall 2014 - Spring 2015 academic year is USD $32,000. This statement cannot be a photocopy, fax, or printed from the internet.  It must either be an official copy, or a photocopy that has been signed and attested by a bank manager. Bank statements created more than 6 months before the start of school will not be accepted.

  • Students applying for Fall (August) semester will need a bank statement created during or after March of the same year.
  • Students applying for Spring (January) semester will need a bank statement created during or after August of the previous year.

2.   Letter of support from sponsor. If the financial statement is not in your name, you must also submit a letter of support from the person who owns the account.

This is a simple letter, indicating the sponsor knows you and is willing to support you. It must also be signed and dated by the Sponsor. If you are not sure how to write this Letter, you may also use our standard Letter of Support.

3.  Photocopy of passport.  This can be mailed, emailed, or faxed to our office.
