Scholarships

Once an international student has been admitted to NIU as a freshman or transfer student, they can be considered for either a merit or housing scholarship. Students can apply for the International Student Merit Scholarship from the Office of International Admissions through the MyScholarship application.

For other scholarship opportunities, beyond the Office of International Admissions scholarships, please visit the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office.

Please find more information below on the type of scholarships that students can be eligible for after admission. These are awarded based on your calculated GPA. Students will be considered for these scholarships as long as the MyScholarship application is completed before the deadline.
