My Fulbright tenure has been a tremendously productive and fulfiling experience. The research time allotted and proximity to critical primary source materials facilitated by this fellowship have helped me to establish the framework for what I hope will be a first-rate dissertation. Aside from the academic value, our time in the Philippines has also provided a series of adventures for my family and me that could be had nowhere else on earth. The people, the places, the experiences, and of course the food have created a collection of memories that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.
