Econ Illinois:
Teach Children to Save Day - Chicago!

Make a difference in the lives of Chicago Students!

Bank of America

Through a grant from Bank of America, Econ Illinois will provide 150 classrooms in Chicago with a fun and valuable program called "Teach Children to Save Day" during the fall semester. This program links first, second and third grade classrooms with local volunteers who spend about 45 minutes in the classroom presenting a lesson based on a children's storybook and teaching about the importance of saving. View the fall 2009 program flyer.

Business leaders are invited to be a part of this exciting volunteer opportunity. Volunteer personally and/or recruit fellow colleagues or employees. The specific dates for the classroom visits will be matched for the convenience of the volunteers. View the volunteer registration form to sign up.

Teachers of grades 1, 2 and 3 can sign their class up to participate by completing the teacher registration form and returning it to Lisa Donnini, TCSD Coordinator. Econ Illinois will coordinate the matches with schools in Chicago. When possible, a volunteer may be asked to present to several classes at the same school during one morning or afternoon visit. Therefore, teachers are encouraged to coordinate this opportunity with all of the grades 1-3 teachers in the school.

Volunteers and teachers who have participated in this program in other regions express that the children respond with excitement, and that Teach Children to Save Day is a positive experience for all. Join the fun and make a difference. Sign Up Now!
