Print Resources
The primary source of curriculum and educational activities for use with the SMG program should be the SMG program's Teacher Support Center accessed through a registered teacher's login and password. In addition to those resources, materials found on the Econ Illinois web site, in this section, will help the SMG teacher teach about the stock market, teach research, and incorporate current events into their classroom lessons.
First-time teachers are strongly encouraged to review materials in the SMG's Teacher Support Center first, then review material listed here for further guidance and support. Begin with Management Resources, below, which will help you organize your classroom and your integration of the SMG into your curriculum. Then review the Educational Resources section (also below) for classroom instructional aids.
Management Resources - how to get going
The Management Resources provided through the Econ Illinois web site will assist the teacher in setting up the class and managing the ten-to fifteen week simulation's integration into the course or class schedule. First time SMG teachers are strongly encouraged to review these materials and use what applies to their specific teaching situation.
Educational Resources - classroom aids
The Educational Resources found in this section will help the SMG teacher teach about the stock market, stock research, and how to use the news as part of the SMG program. Material found here is not curriculum, but serves to provide important support to resources found in the Teacher Support Center within the SMG program.
