About IASET
The Illinois Association of School Economics Teachers is a teacher organization that sponsors workshops and conferences to help K-12 teachers improve the teaching of economics and personal finance in their classrooms. Membership services include fall and spring teacher conferences; improving communication among school economics teachers; keeping members informed on new instructional materials and methods; and discounts on identified publications. IASET is affiliated with the Illinois Council on Economic Education.
The fall conference is held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and focuses on economic theory and economic research. The spring conference is generally issue or topic focused, providing teaching material that is timely and of interest to teachers and their students.
A one-year IASET membership is included in the registration for either of the two annual conferences, or by contacting the Governors State University Office of Economic Education Director, Sheryl Szot Gallaher by email or at 708.534.4926.
