Workshops, Courses and Program Training

Topics and dates of professional development opportunities offered by Econ Illinois and its affiliated university-based Centers/Offices for Economic Education are constantly changing. Check directly with the Center serving your area for lists of their programs. This list will be updated frequently.

  • Fall Conference of IASET - December 4
    All teachers are invited to attend the fall conference of the Illinois Association of School Economics Teachers, to be held December 4 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Registration fee includes a one-year membership in IASET.
  • Virtual Economics 3.0 CD-ROM training
    Teacher training for K-12 teachers features the Virtual Economics 3.0 (VE3) CD-ROM. Now available, the ONLINE! training will show teachers how VE3 can serve as a resource tool for K-12 teachers to enhance the social studies, math, language arts and science curricula.
  • Conference on Financial Literacy - January 22, 2010
    Econ Illinois, through Bank of America sponsorship, brings financial literacy curriculum and resources to K-12 teachers. The conference will be held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Separate registration dates for Chicago and non-Chicago teachers.
  • The Stock Market Game teacher training
    Centers for Economic Education offer workshops for teachers interested in learning more about the SMG program, or needing training as new participants. Teachers unable to attend an onsite workshop may wish to register for one of the one-hour Webinars which they can attend from any location at which they can be on the computer and a land line phone at the same time.   • Certificate in the Teaching of Economics (CTE)
    Teachers at the K-12, community college, college and university levels will develop skills to teach courses in Economics and Consumer Economics and to include economic concepts in other courses.
