Teacher training for K-12 teachers features the new Virtual Economics 3.0 (VE3) CD-ROM. VE3 is a resource tool for K-12 teachers to enhance the social studies, math, language arts and science curricula. This list is updated as needed. - VE 3.0 AND The Stock Market Game - Combination workshops!

A professional Development workshop for 9th - 12th grade educators will be held April 29 from 8:30 to 3:00 at the St. Clair County Regional Office of Education, Belleville. Workshop hosted by The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and the Office of Economic Education and Business Research at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. - Summer School At The Fed
Three sessions over the dates June 9 - 19 offer graduate credit or non-credit. Sessions include "The Global Market: Why Does it Matter?; Making Sense of Money and Banking; Technology: Tools for Teaching Social Studies and Personal Finance. Held at The Hampton Inn-Gateway Arch, St. Louis, MO. Register through the Office of Economic Education and Business Research at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.
- Strategies for Teaching Economics in the Elementary Classroom, ECON 702
This three-graduate hour course for elementary teachers will be offered over 9 days in June through Governors State University. Classes will meet in Oak Forest; scholarships are available; each qualifying participant will receive a copy of the Virtual Economics 3.0 CD-ROM. July 14 - 25, 2008, University of Illinois at Chicago, for teachers of grades K-12. The July 16-18 module, "Drawing the Big Picture - Basic Macroeconomic Concepts" includes Virtual Economics 3.0 training (and free CD Rom to eligible teachers.) - AP Economics Summer Institutes
Summer institutes that prepare teachers to teach AP economics or improve the skills of teachers presently teaching AP economics will be offered in June at Illinois Wesleyan University and in July at Northwestern University. Mr. James Chasey will present.
- Toyota International Teacher Program
Applications are now available for the 2008 Toyota International Teacher Program to the Galapagos Islands, a unique professional development program for secondary school teachers and librarians. Program is November 22 - Dec 6 and applications are due May 9. - Financial Fitness for Kids
Financial Fitness for Kids is a financial literacy program for Chicago Public Schools offered by ICEE in partnership with the Office of the Chicago City Treasurer. - The Stock Market Game TM workshops
Teacher training for those planning to implement The Stock Market Game for the first time will help the educator learn where to find lessons, activities, assessments and tutorials, and learn how the online student portfolio simulation works. This list is updated as needed.
