ICEE is a partnership of leaders from business, labor, agriculture,
education, and government, dedicated to increasing economic literacy
in Illinois. We work toward that end with the leadership
of a Governing Board and
a Board of Trustees.

Board Spotlight - Scott Gordon
Scott Gordon is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Rosenthal Collins Group, LLC, a leading futures brokerage and trading firm headquartered in Chicago. Prior to his arrival at RCG, Mr. Gordon was President and Chief Operating Officer of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Futures, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd.
As Chairman of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange from 1998-2002, he guided the CME through the development and execution of a strategic plan that transformed the Exchange from a mutual membership organization to a for-profit stock corporation, the first U.S. financial exchange to do so. He served as Director of the Exchange from 1982-2004.
Gordon’s career in the futures industry spans more than 30 years. From 1974 through 1983 he held various trading and management positions with Rosenthal and Company, and, from 1983 until 1988, he held similar positions at Dellsher Investment Company. From 1989-2004, Gordon served in senior executive roles with Tokyo-Mitsubishi Futures and its predecessor firms. He is a former member of the CME as well as the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Board Options Exchange and also served on the board and executive committee of the National Futures Association (NFA).
Mr. Gordon is currently a Chair of the Governing Board of the Illinois Council on Economic Education and trustee of the Institute for Financial Markets. He also serves on the Boards of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
Mr. Gordon received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics, cum laude, from Union College in Schenectady, New York. A resident of Chicago, Scott is married and has two children.
Scott will be passing his gavel to the incoming Chair at the March 2008 Annual Meeting. The Council is very grateful to Mr. Gordon for his past leadership and looks forward to continuing to work with him and all Board members in promoting the Council’s mission. |
