The Stock Market Game™awards and dates
Spring 2007 Session concludes, winners announced

The Stock Market Game's online portfolio simulation concluded on April 27, with regional winners being determined. View the complete list of winners and details of awards receptions, on the ICEE web site's SMG Winners Spring 2007 page.

In addition to geographic regional winners around the state, The Stock Market Game program is announcing the first set of Cabrera Statewide Award winners. This special award is made possible by the generous support of ICEE board member Martin Cabrera, owner of Cabrera Capital Markets, Inc. and past Stock Market Game participant.

A student team taught by Mascoutah High School teacher Marsha Ragen has won the High School division of the Cabrera Statewide Award. The students and their teacher will travel to New York City in the next few weeks, for a three day trip that includes a visit to the New York Stock Exchange and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

A student team taught by Rogers Elementary School (Chicago) teacher Jerry Weissbuch has won the Elementary division of the Cabrera Statewide Award. Mr. Weissbuch and his students will receive an overnight stay at the Union League Club of Chicago, with visits to the Chicago Stock Exchange and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Read more about Martin's generous funding and this top-level award.

2007-2008 Sessions include a Year-Long Session!

Teachers may register any time for free participation in The Stock Market Game program. For information on session and workshop dates for 2007-2008, go directly to the Illinois information pages of SMG at http://illinois.smgww.org . The tab "Game Dates" gives the session dates for schools in the City of Chicago as well as schools outside Chicago.

In addition, for the first time, ICEE is offering a session that runs the entire school year, from September through the end of April. Teachers with year-long classes might find this longer-term simulation very beneficial. As with the semester-long sessions of ten to fifteen weeks, there is no cost to enroll in the Year-Long session.

Check out the Illinois information pages of SMG for complete information on upcoming session dates as well as teacher workshop dates.
