InvestWrite, a component of The SMG Program, was a success again this past fall. Students enrolled in the fall 2004 SMG Program were eligible to enter the competition. Prizes vary from trips to Disney World and laptop computers to gift certificates and classroom pizza parties!
We are proud to announce that four Illinois students were winners in this fall competition. Julia Rabin, 5th grade student of teacher Kerry DiFusco at Patterson Elementary in Naperville, won 2nd place in the upper-elementary division. Two other students from Ms. DiFusco's class were also winners: Ryan Lacy, 3rd place; and Janelle Domek, 7th place. In addition, Andy Hemphill, a student of teacher Kim Demarigny at Lincoln Middle School in Park Ridge, won an honorable mention.
A perfect companion to The SMG Program, this teacher-designed writing component and competition reinforces students' newfound knowledge and hones critical thinking skills. InvestWrite builds a bridge between classroom learning and the real world. To learn more: http://www.investwrite.info
