Grants, Awards and Programs - ACT NOW!

Econ Challenge ONLINE! ~ Don’t miss this opportunity in early January!

Teachers from around the state are invited to engage their students in ICEE’s first Econ Challenge ONLINE competition, open to all Illinois high school students enrolled in an economics course during the current academic year.  Illinois Econ Challenge ONLINE will administer the preliminary rounds of this academic competition.  Top teams will be invited to participate in the Illinois State Econ Challenge Finals at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago on April 7, 2008.  Teacher registration is scheduled to begin in January, 2008 and will be available at the Economics Challenge web page of the ICEE web site at http://www.econed-il.org/icee/econchal.shtml.  Keep watching for details, or contact Jodi Long at  jodilong@niu.edu  or 815.753.0356.

Financing Your Future Workshop (High School)

Coming November 2, 2007!  ICEE will be offering a full day teacher training workshop featuring Financing Your Future, a new personal finance program on DVD for high school teachers and their students that teaches about planning for the future through wise management of resources.  The workshop will take place in Chicago and will be delivered through our Center for Economic on Econ Ed at UIC.

3M Innovative Economic Educator Mini-Grants ~ Available for a limited time each year!

Take steps to secure funding to support your unit or project now!  Requests for proposals for 2007-2008 Innovative Economic Educator Mini-Grants are now available!  These Innovative Economic Educator Mini-Grants found at: http://www.econed-il.org/icee/3m_innov.shtml#ieemini are designed to support the development of innovative economic education projects that will be submitted to the 3M Economic Educator Award Program.  Any K-12 educator is eligible and may apply.  The 2007-2008 Innovative Economic Educator Mini-Grant requests for proposals are due no later than November 30, 2007.

Global Economics and Finance Mini-Grants ~ Applications accepted through March 5, 2008!  Apply Today!

Have an idea, lesson or activity that incorporates a global perspective into your curriculum?  Global Economics and Finance (GEF) Mini Grants can provide YOU with funding support!  ICEE has a limited number of GEF Mini-Grants available.  Any Illinois school, classroom (or supporting Center for Economic Education) committed to the integration of economics with a global perspective may apply.
