Poster Contest 2012 Regional Winners
On May 15, a reception was held for award-winning students receiving recognition in the NIU Center for Economic Education's regional competition. Students, teachers and parents gathered at the NIU Naperville Campus to celebrate the achievements of twenty-four students and seven teachers.

Hosted by the NIU Center for Economic Education, the reception included congratulations from Kathy Duncan, Chief Academic Officer, Naperville District 203 and Kathy Pease, Executive Director, Elementary, Indian Prairie District 204. In her welcome, Joanne Dempsey, President/ Executive Director of Econ Illinois explained the NIU Regional contest's place within the annual statewide competition.
In addition to Regional First Place and Honorable Mention awards, the students who were also selected as State Winners and State Honorable Mention winners were recognized. Students received certificates for their awards. The three State Winners were presented with medals.

Joining the students in the photos are Dr. Mary Beth Henning and Dr. Stephen Karlson, co-directors of the NIU Center for Economic Education.
Families and friends of the awarded students and teachers enjoyed cookies and punch, and viewed a PowerPoint slideshow of all of the NIU Regional winners' drawings.
