Beth Metzler

Beth has been an advocate of financial literacy throughout her adult life.  After joining Econ Illinois, she became actively involved in economic education as well.  She coordinated The Stock Market Game ™ (SMG) program with Marty Paul for a number of years, and continues to provide curriculum support for teachers using the SMG program.

Currently, Beth oversees the Illinois Personal Finance Challenge – a program begun in 2009 for high school students.  Beth also manages teacher mini-grants and award programs, an online training for teachers, conducts professional development workshops and oversees communications with Illinois legislators on behalf of Econ Illinois’ program participants.  Beth works to build partnerships with other educational organizations throughout the state to expand the Council’s reach to K-12 teachers.
