How to Apply

Here’s how it works:

  1. Apply to NIU for admission as a full-time freshman for Fall of 2012
  2. Complete the FAFSA by MAP eligibility deadline (or earlier)
  3. Receive your financial aid award letter from NIU
  4. Look for verification of eligibility for state and federal financial aid (MAP and Pell grants)
  5. Look for tuition charges that exceed those grant amounts
  6. See those charges marked “PAID – Huskie Advantage Program”
  7. Pack your bags, put on your favorite Huskie T-shirt and head to NIU!
