ResTech is currently hiring for this position.
Job Description
Developers in the ResTech Development Team are undergrad students who:
- Assist in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of custom web and software-based applications for ResTech and other areas of Housing and Dining
- Experiment with and evaluate new technologies and software for potential use within the department
- Construct and manage databases and database applications
- Support and maintain the Housing and Dining Intranet
Requirements
Working knowledge of the following:
- Operating Systems: Windows (2000/XP)
- Programming Languages: PHP, HTML/CSS, Javascript, MySQL
- Exceptional teamwork skills
- Exceptional communication skills
Other requirements:
- Available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
- Enrolled minimum 6 credit hours as an NIU student
- Available to work throughout the year, including semester breaks
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to learn fast and pick up new skills quickly
Recommended skills (not required):
- Operating Systems: Linux, Windows Vista
- Programming Languages: XML/XHTML, .NET, ActionScript, AJAX, C++/C#, Java
- Experience developing web-based applications
- Experience working in a Linux server environment
- Experience working under a content management system
- Experience working with a template engine (Smarty)
- Experience in systems analysis and design
- Familiarity with Web Standards (W3C)
Starting Pay Rate
- $11.25 per hour
