Hello my name is Whitney Horton and I am going into my junior year here at NIU.  I am a corporate communication major planning on one day becoming head of the public relations department of a major sports team.  I plan on bringing even more creativity to an already creative place. I want to help bring a new twist to campus safety bulletin boards that will make more residents aware of the resources provided to them by the University.

Nancy Alejandre, 20. Born and raised in the South Side of Chicago, grew up within a family of six other siblings and both parents involved in our every move. My parents have always motivated me to do my best in everything that I do, but my older siblings Maria and Jose, have been my inspiration to finish my education and become successful. I feel content with what has become of me, but am aspiring to continue striving for the best. I will make the impossible, possible. I hold the key to my future and will not give up until I unlock the door that I’ve been in search for. Motivated, passionate and a little selfish at times, nothing and no one will stop me from becoming the successful, well recognized News Reporter that I’ve always dreamt of. I will make everyone who believed (and didn’t believe) in me proud. I make sure that every day I bring the same energy I have for my future to the RC to make sure that everyone can succeed at whatever it is they need to here at NIU.
