Opening Day
We can't wait to welcome you to campus for Opening Week 2013!
Opening Day is Thursday, August 22nd.
Move in assistance is available from 9 AM to 3 PM on Opening Day.
If you are part of a group, organization, or are employed by a department on-campus that requires you to move in early, please discuss your move in schedule and options with that group, organization, or department.
As you near campus on Opening Day, our NIU Police Officers will assist in directing you through the traffic patterns to your residence hall. You will follow the route outlined in the Unloading & Parking Maps below.
Once you arrive at the residence hall, students will go inside to check in to their room and get their key. While the student is checking in, our Team NIU Volunteers will assist in unloading the student's belongings (9 AM - 3 PM). Once belongings are unloaded, please plan on parking in the lot our officers direct you to.
