Emily Del Monaco has been selected to join the University Honors Program as program coordinator. Del Monaco started with University Honors August 11 following a two-year tenure with NIU's College of Business. During this time she served as an Undergraduate Studies academic counselor as well as coordinator of the Career Compass program. Del Monaco holds a B.A. in Communication from The Ohio State University and a M.A. in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. She also brings a wealth of knowledge from her time spent working in the Orientation & First-Year Experience office at NIU, as well as interning with the BGSU Honors Program. Bucknell University Community College Scholars Program, and NIU T.E.A.C.H. House. Del Monaco has studied in Italy, England, and Scotland. Additionally, she has taught both UNIV 101 and 201 at NIU, volunteered as a Student-Faculty Links mentor, and currently serves as co-advisor for the NIU chapter of Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society. In her new role as program coordinator Emily will manage the Honors House, supervise the Honors House Leaders and Community Leaders, facilitate programming for Honors students, and aid with program communication and alumni outreach.
