The goal of the summit is for students, staff, and faculty to engage with one another in a way that enhances the quality of peer mentoring relationships across the entire state of Illinois.
Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to attend, especially those who are currently mentoring or plan to mentor other students. Students who are interested in getting involved in mentoring programs on campus are also encouraged to attend. Faculty and staff involved with peer mentoring programs will also have special sections of the summit designed specifically for them. Registration is open to not only NIU students, but to prospective NIU students from area community colleges
The Peer Mentor Summit will give students, faculty, and staff from NIU and surrounding community colleges an opportunity to listen to guest speakers and participate in engaged roundtable discussions related to diversity, academics, problems, and professionalism in peer mentoring relationships. Participants will also have the chance to engage with student representatives from mentoring programs here at NIU.
Attendees will have an opportunity to choose a preferred lunch option when completing the registration survey, but if you have specific food allergies, please contact Emily Dow at firstname.lastname@example.org
