Super Bowl Sunday

• Date: February 3, 2013
• Time: 5:30pm
• Description: To kick off the spring semester, House Leaders and Community Advisors have collaborated two coordinate two separate Super Bowl Parties on the first and third floors. As a social gathering, food and activities have been planned.

Kickball Tournament

• Date: February 4, 2013
• Time: 7:00pm
• Location Chick Evans Field House
• Description: Details coordinated by New Hall Staff.

Comedy Night with Jack Baker

• Date: February 5, 2013
• Time: 7:30pm
• Location: New Hall Community Center
• Description: To promote emotional and mental health, Jake Baker, NIU alum and former University Honors student, now a professional stand-up comedian will be conducting a night of laughs regarding his academic experiences and life after NIU. He will focus on how humor in life can change situations.

Career Fashion Show (Sponsor: Kohl’s)

• Date: February 6, 2013
• Time: 7:30pm
• Location: New Hall Community Center
• Description: An event sponsored by Kohl’s in collaboration with Career Services to educate students on the right attire to wear in a variety of professional settings. Prizes and games are scheduled. Coordinate by New Hall Staff.

Jeopardy Night

• Date: February 7, 2013
• Time: 7:30pm
• Location: New Hall Community Center
• Description: Coordinated by New Hall Staff

Pizza with Dr. Jones

• Date: February 28, 2013
• Time: 5:00pm-7:00pm
• Location: First and second floor will be meeting in cluster E214. Third and fourth floor will be meeting in cluster E314.
• Details: Dr. Jones will be visiting the Honors House to engage residents about new information, upcoming events, and to gain insight as to their experiences thus far. Pizza dinner will be made available.

Birthday Box Preparation Event

• Date: March 5, 2013 and April 2, 2013
• Time: 7:00pm
• Location: Cluster E114.
• Description: We will be hosting a Birthday Box preparation event so that residents make the birthday box gifts for the month of March celebration.

AFI Top 10 Classic Film Festival- Casablanca

• Date: March 26, 2013
• Time: 6:00pm
• Location: Egyptian Theater
• Description: To celebrate the relationships develop and to strengthen others, this will be a movie night for forty residents.

Spring 2013 Course Preview Night

• Date: Wednesday, March 27, 2013
• Time: 5:00pm-7:00pm
• Location: Campus Life Building 100
• Description: Come meet with the faculty member that will be teaching Honors courses for Fall 2013. They will be sharing summaries of their course and related work so that you can get a head start on planning for your classes.

Spring Celebration: Semester Trip

• Description: Each semester the Honors House hosts an off-campus event for students to celebrate their hard work and efforts. The spring location is TBD.

Don’t Stress the Test

• Date: May 3, 2013
• Time: 7:30pm-9:30pm
• Location: New Hall Community Center
• Description: To assist students in relaxing the week before finals, we will be offering free chair massages and ice cream to residents.
