The GHRI faculty associates serve as curriculum consultants for districts and schools as they develop genocide and human rights materials. Several have worked with teachers from Rockford Public Schools, Elgin School District, and numerous others on both professional and curricular development. On-going projects include working with ISBE to put together curricular guidelines, recommendations for teaching materials, lesson plan development, and state-wide implementation.
Beginning in Fall 2009 we will offer a one-day workshop for schools and districts to train their teachers on how to teach genocide and human rights in the middle and secondary grades classroom.
