Ron's teaching career began in 1964 when he taught junior high (grades 7-9) civics, world history, and U.S. history. In 1970 he moved from teaching junior high to teaching at the high school level, where, until his retirement, he taught social studies, U.S. history, world history, sociology. American Government, economics.
Ron received his M.S. in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University in 1972. Later in his career, Ron became a career awareness counselor and, from 1990 until 2002, a Guidance Counselor. All of this experience has been gained within the Rockford Public Schools system.
After his retirement Ron returned to RPS to serve the district as a counselor for alternative and at risk students and the coordinator of assessments for Rockford Jefferson High School, a position he still holds.
