In addition to the awards, prizes, and scholarships offered by the College of Arts and Sciences, the History Department recognizes the achievements of its undergraduate and graduate students as well as alumni through numerous different awards every year. Many prizes and scholarships were developed to reflect and honor the contributions of individuals to the History Department, which are held in high esteem by history faculty past and present.
Students may apply for more than one award and faculty may nominate students for more than one award if the eligibility requirements are met. Consult faculty and the History Department office for more information. Please note that this listing includes the Hugh Jameson Graduate Student Essay Prize, but not the Earl W. Hayter Grant and Alfred F. Young Award for Graduate Students.
