Current Research: My current research focuses on the philosophical and aesthetic ideals of southern novelists, poets, scientists, theologians, and polemicists in the Age of the Civil War. I am also revising two articles about the south in the 1960s: one examines the War on Poverty; the other treats issues of civil rights on a university campus.
