True North is the first campaign for Northern Illinois University. This philanthropic effort has been quietly in the works for nearly seven years. During this time, generous alumni and friends have committed over $117 million. We’ve now entered the final phase of the campaign.

Our goal is to reach $150 million by June 2010.
For the past seven years NIU has charted an ambitious course for the future. We’ve seen unprecedented levels of giving and have built three new world-class facilities, while considerably increasing our endowment.
Now it’s time to set our sights higher, reach farther and do more than we’ve ever done before.
The final phase of our campaign is focused on building the university’s endowment to provide scholarships for our deserving
students, and to support our faculty, academic programs, athletics, and the university libraries.
