Being a Huskie is about a lot more than excelling academically. It's about bringing others along with you as you push each other up to the next level in life. Being a Huskie means making a positive impact in the community and reaching out to those who are struggling. It means being a patriot and a supporter of NIU both on and off campus. Some day all of us Huskies will go our separate ways in our lives and careers and we will all look back on our days at NIU as our great defining moment.

As a Forward Together Forward Scholar, I plan to honor the memories of our fallen students by working as hard as I can in my life's work. I hope to graduate from law school someday and move on to public office where I can champion the rights of the average person.
