NIU Engineering Camp for Campers Entering Grades 6-8

July 12-17, 2009

Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois

Get WISE engineering camp for middle school students focuses this year on ways engineering will help this country “go green.”  In addition to assembling products through a “lean manufacturing” cycle, campers will learn about alternative energy sources.  They will explore electrical energy through hands-on experiments that include both renewable and non-renewable energy sources.  They will also learn about other forms of kinetic and potential energy by experimenting with rockets and roller coasters.  NIU faculty, middle school teachers, and 24/7 NIU student counselors will guide campers throughout their stay at NIU.  Campers will enjoy dorm life, good food, new friends, and memorable activities.
