Course Description

Theories, principles and approaches of geographic visualization. Fundamentals of cartographic representation, theoretical and practical issues of geovisualization, and developing methods in exploratory spatial data analysis, animation, 3-D representation, and virtual environments.

Course Objectives

  • Describe current development in cartography and geovisualization.
  • Understand the fundamental concepts and methods in cartography and geovisualization.
  • Develop hands-on skills of geographic visualization.

Course Format

Lecture and laboratory. This is an online course that does not require any face-to-face instruction; interaction is usually done by Blackboard or email.
