Course Description

This course is an introduction to soil science. Lectures will emphasize the inter-relationships of hydrology, landforms, vegetation, climate, and geologic materials with soils. We will also be focusing on using soil resource information in making wise land-use decisions. In addition, the impact of humans on soils will be discussed. Laboratory exercises will provide a hands-on introduction to basic techniques used to study elements of soil science.
