Brenda Martinez

I am originally from Ottawa (a town directly south of Dekalb) although I was born in Hidalgo, Texas. My mother wanted me to be a pharmacist but that was not going to happen. Instead I came to NIU to become a high school Spanish teacher. My first two undergrad years made me realize that I may never step into a high school classroom as an instructor -- due to the trickiness of life my goals have changed. I have a great interest in English and Spanish literature, and I hope to continue my studies indefinitely.
