Students who study Russian understand that Russia is and will be a huge, wealthy country that will always influence geopolitics. Moreover, Russia has contributed greatly to world culture in the areas of music, painting, theatre, as well as the sciences. Combined with a degree in business, science, computer science, or law, Russian language enhances a student’s job opportunities. The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures offers a minor in Russian language and literature. The courses vary from introductory language classes to survey courses of Russian culture and literature to specialized courses on topics such as contemporary culture, modernism or the Russian short story. Since our program is small, it is highly individualized and can be designed to meet a student’s needs and interests. A good deal of personal attention can be devoted to dedicated students.
