NIU Forensics sponsors on-campus public debates and panels on many contemporary controversies. As the non-competitive wing of the organization, public debate centers on engaging meaningful dialogue on issues affecting campus, city, state, national, and international communities.
Public debates are designed with NIU's diverse student population in mind. Non-traditional, graduate, and law students find that on-campus debates create opportunities for their participation.
Students involved in public debate take on a variety of activities including: researching controversies, identifying key stakeholders, recruiting and training advocates, arranging venues, and promoting events.
