The NIU Center for Economic Education is committed to helping K-12 teachers guide their students through our complex financial landscape because learning about economics and personal finance prepares students to make wise decisions as consumers, investors, citizens, and participants in the global economy. They deliver teacher workshops and sponsor student activities designed to improve competencies in financial literacy while also improving achievements in reading and mathematics.
The Center for Economic Education offers
Credit and non-credit professional development programs that enable teachers to incorporate economics into their classroom activities.
Consultations with educators who wish to incorporate economic education across the curriculum at all grade levels.
