How Merit Scholarships Work
When you apply for admission to NIU as an incoming freshman or transfer student, you’ll automatically be considered for our renewable merit scholarships. These are awarded based on your high school GPA or on your transfer GPA.
You’ll also be considered for our Huskie Legacy Award if you are the child of an NIU alumnus.
