The ECS Student Teaching Scholarship was initiated by an anonymous donor to promote the excellence in undergraduate study in Early Childhood Studies.
One or more scholarships will be awarded. The scholarship money will be applied to the Spring semester tuition.
This award will be applied toward academic tuition after being automatically deposited in the bursar's office prior to the beginning of the semester.
The scholarship program welcomes applications from full-time students who have been admitted into the Early Childhood Studies program in both the School of Family, Consumer, and Nutrition Sciences and the Department of Teaching & Learning at Northern Illinois University. Those who will be student teaching in the Spring semester are eligible to apply.
Scholarships are awarded to students who have shown significant academic, leadership, professional, and personal achievements and who have demonstrated financial need for assistance in meeting educational expenses. The awards do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, marital status, national origin, disability, status as a disabled veteran or Vietnam-era veteran, or sexual orientation.
To maintain these awards, scholarship winners must continue with full-time enrollment toward their degree in Early Childhood Studies for the spring semester following receipt of the award.
Applicants for ECS scholarships must submit a TYPED or WORD-PROCESSED application form. Applicants must attach to the back of the application, a copy of their most current transcript that includes their last semester completed. In addition, two letters of recommendations should be submitted directly to the scholarship committee.
Applications are available for the ECS Student Teaching Scholarship in the Fall semester from the School of Family, Consumer & Nutrition Sciences, Wirtz Hall, Room 118.
